’Moving Forward Together’ Is Launched in Dublin
The official Dublin launch of ‘Moving Forward Together: Homosexuality and the Church of Ireland’, took place on Thursday evening, February 9, in the Gallery Chapel of Trinity College Dublin.
Speaking at the launch, Judge Catherine McGuinness, said she felt the book avoided what she termed “the dialogue of the deaf”. “It provides an examination of the relevant Biblical texts and an examination of the scientific medical evidence concerning homosexuality. It also includes contributions from writers whose loyalty to the Church of Ireland is undoubted and who represent the middle ground of many church members,” she stated.
‘Moving Forward Together’ is edited by the Canon Virginia Kennerley and Dr Richard O’Leary. The book is published by Changing Attitudes Ireland and features a forward by Canon Kennerley and Judge Catherine McGuinness. Copies of the book are currently available from The Resource Centre at Holy Trinity Church, Rathmines, Dublin 6, Best Sellers, 41 Dawson Street, Dublin 2, and many cathedral bookshops and costs €5.
