Diocesan Synods of Dublin and Glendalough
The Diocesan Synods 2012 of the United Dioceses of Dublin and Glendalough get underway today (Tuesday October 16) in Taney Parish Centre at 5.00 pm and continue tomorrow evening.
Archbishop Michael Jackson, President of Synods, will take the chair at 5.00 pm and the meeting will be opened with a reading of Holy Scripture and Prayer. The President will then appoint an Assessor for the duration of the Synods. Following the signing of the minutes of the first session of the 48th Synods (held on October 18 and 19 2011) the President will deliver his address.
Over the course of Synods, members will hear reports from Diocesan Councils, the Diocesan Board of Education, the Church’s Ministry of Healing, the Diocesan Council for Mission and the Diocesan Committee for Social Action.
This evening’s business will be preceded by a celebration of Holy Communion which takes place in Christ Church Taney at 4.00 pm.
