Stedfast Association’s New Year Bible Class Takes Place in Castleknock
The Stedfast Association of former members and friends of the Boys’ Brigade in the Republic of Ireland held its New Year Bible Class in St Brigid’s Church in Castleknock on Sunday January 6.
The service was led by the president of the association, Ken Richards, who welcomed the good crowd to the annual class. The rousing music at the service was provided by the Stedfast Association Brass Ensemble conducted by Peter O’Callaghan. Readings were delivered by Philip Daley and Billy Ellis and the prayers were led by the Revd Paul Houston, Rector of Castleknock.
The special speaker this year was Mark Acheson, who is a member of the Stedfast Association and a Boys’ Brigade leader in Clontarf. He addressed the congregation on how Boys’ Brigade had affected his life and on the relevance of the organisation today, as it enters its 130th year.
The Stedfast Association has a number of forthcoming events. The annual general meeting takes place on Thursday February 21 in the Stillorgan Park Hotel, Stillorgan, at 8.00 pm.
The Stedfast Association’s annual council meeting and fellowship weekend will take place in Dublin from May 10 to 12.
