European Christian Internet Conference Comes to Dublin
The eighteenth European Christian Internet Conference (ECIC) will take place in Emmaus Conference Centre, Swords, County Dublin, from June 4 to 7 2013. The theme of the conference will be Tradition and innovation: the tensions of a maturing Internet. The conference will present an opportunity to consider whether the Internet is, in fact, like ECIC, coming of age and how experiences of being religious and human are enriched or challenged by experience of the virtual.
Among the speakers at the conference will be Heidi Campbell, Adrian Weckler and Ciarán McMahon – keen observers of online developments. Their presentations, and those of the other speakers and the participation of members of the ECIC network promise to make this an interesting and enriching conference.
This is the Conference’s first time to visit Ireland and Wednesday June 7 will be open to non–members. This will provide an opportunity to meet and hear from people who work in a variety of sites across Europe, representing many denominations and organisations. Details can be found at www.ecic.org.
