Praise and Thanksgiving at St Doulagh’s Open Air Service

St Doulagh’s 15th Annual Open Air Ecumenical Service of Praise and Thanksgiving was held on Sunday May 26 in St Doulagh’s Field, beside the Ancient yet vibrant church and centre of Christian Worship on Malahide Road, Balgriffin. Once again they  were blessed with sunshine and the large congregation raised their voices in praise singing many well known and loved hymns by the Wesley brothers.

The guest speaker this year was Tom Tate, the parish’s former youth officer. He spoke of his desire to help young people to come to know Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. He said wanted to help them to build a strong foundation for their lives as they faced the problems in the world today.

During the service a Collection was taken up for the work of the Laura Lynn Hospice Foundation. Music was provided by the 1st Dublin Company Boys’ Brigade Brass and the Dublin Conservative Club Male Voice Choir.

Guided tours of the church and site were conducted after the service and will also take place every Sunday from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm until the end of September. There will also be a full programme at St Doulagh’s during National Heritage Week.
