Trinity College Dublin Chapel Choir Tour to London
The Trinity College Dublin Chapel Choir will travel to London at the weekend for a number of engagements.
On Saturday June 15 at 4.30 pm the choir will sing Evensong in the Church of Saint Botolph without Bishopsgate in the heart of the financial district.
This service will be in the presence of the Rt Hon the Lord Mayor of the City of London and the Lady Mayoress, and of numerous Trustees of the Prayer Book Society. Music by Gibbons, Hewson and Rose will feature and the Responses will be sung by the TCD Dean of Residence, the Revd Darren McCallig.
Then on Sunday morning the Trinity Choir will sing at the 11.00 am Eucharist in the beautiful church of Saint Vedast–Alias–Foster in Foster Lane at the opposite end of the “Square Mile”. Finally, on Monday June 17 the choir will sing at Saint Mary Moorfields on Eldon Street which is the only Roman Catholic church in the financial heart of the capital.
There is a strong connection between Trinity College Dublin and the parishes of Saint Botolph and Saint Vedast as the Rector of both is the former TCD Dean of Residence, the Revd Dr Alan McCormack.
A fundraising concert in aid of the choir tour will be held in TCD College Chapel this Wednesday, June 12, at 8.00 pm.
