Office of Compline to be Sung Twice This Weekend in Dublin City Centre
A ‘Schola Peregrina’ will sing the office of Compline twice this weekend at 5.30 pm in two different Dublin city–centre churches, to which all are most warmly welcomed.
These will take place on Friday 22 November in the medieval church of St Audoen’s on High Street and on Saturday 23 November in the stately space of St Andrew’s, Westland Row, both at 5.30 pm.
The music will include an ‘Ave Maria … Virgo serena’ by Josquin des Prez (c.1450–1521), and a ‘Salve Regina’ by John Browne (fl. 1490s), one of the finest composers contained within the pages of the Eton choirbook, which is also the sole source of his compositions.
