Irish School of Ecumenics to Hold Interreligious Studies Conference

The Irish School of Ecumenics is holding a one day interreligious studies conference on Islam and Muslim–Christian Relations on Wednesday February 5 in Trinity College, Dublin.  

The guest lecturers will be Dr David Thomas, Professor of Christianity and Islam, and Nadir Dinshaw, Professor of Interreligious Relations, University of Birmingham. The day starts at 10.15 am and concludes at 5.00 pm. 

The morning session runs from 10.15 am to 12.45 pm and focuses on ‘the Prophet Mohammed and the Qur’an in the Structure of Islamic Religious and Political Thought’. The afternoon session runs from 2.15 pm to 4.45 pm and is on the subject of ‘Christian Doctrine in Islamic Theology: Opportunity or Obstacle for Contemporary Muslim–Christian Interreligious Dialogue’.

The venue for the conference is Lecture Theatre G16, the Irish School of Ecumenics–Loyola Institute Building, at the East end of campus.
