Vacancy – Diocese of Glendalough – Parish of Rathdrum and Derralossary with Glenealy – Incumbency
This parish of approx. 300 souls (160 families), is a grouping of three churches centred in Rathdrum, Laragh and Glenealy and situated in a very scenic area of Co Wicklow between the east coast and the mountains.
The churches are well maintained and have the assistance of two parish readers and four ministers of the Eucharist. This is a welcoming parish with strong ecumenical relations with the local community particularly in Glendalough.
St Saviour’s National School, under the pastoral care of the parish is on the outskirts of Rathdrum is undergoing refurbishment and enlargement. Secondary schooling is available at East Glendalough School in Wicklow and at the local Avondale Community College.
The rectory, built in 2002, is a fine 2 storey four bedroomed house and includes an office and study.
