St Doulagh’s Parishioners Celebrate Significant Anniversary

The parishioners of St Doulagh’s Church could be celebrating anniversaries for different parts of their church on a regular basis – marking not just the number of years in existance, but the number of centuries.

This year they are celebrating the 150th anniversary of the building of the new part of the church and on Saturday July 5 many parishioners gathered together for a birthday party with a sumptuous feast provided by the Williams family. The festivities included a model of St Doulagh’s Church rendered in cake form by Sharon Williams. The parishioners love their church and are aware of the national heritage in their care.

The Friends of St Doulagh’s raise money for the upkeep and repair of the Church. They will be running a number of events during the year starting with National Heritage Week in August, followed by a Flower Festival in October. Watch the parish website for Malahide and Saint Doulagh’s and also stdoulaghschurch.freewebs.com for details.
