Archbishop of Dublin Completes Ice Bucket Challenge
Archbishop Michael Jackson took part in the Ice Bucket Challenge for the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Foundation earlier today (Tuesday September 2) in the Church of Ireland College of Education in Rathmines, Dublin 6. He was nominated to take the challenge by his friend, Kieron Lawlor.
In turn he nominated three people to take the challenge: Dr Heather Morris, the former President of the Methodist Church in Ireland; Mr Sam Harper, Lay Honorary Secretary of the General Synod of the Church of Ireland; and the Very Revd Robert McCarthy, retired Dean of St Patrick’s Cathedral, Dublin.
In front of a small crowd in the grounds of the college, third year BEd students, Karen Johnston, President of CICE Students’ Union and Susan Deering, students’ union Vice President, poured the iced water over the Archbishop. They were assisted by members of sixth class of the nearby Kildare Place School.
