Introducing Christ Church – New Series of Free Lunchtime Lectures
A new series of free lunchtime lectures entitled Introducing Christ Church 2 takes place throughout November. Starting on Tuesday November 4 and continuing on each Tuesday lunchtime, the series will explore various aspects of Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin.
The first lecture, on Tuesday November 4, will focus on Cathedral Architecture and will be given by Dr Michael O’Neill, Architectural Historian.
On Tuesday November 11, Dr Stuart Kinsella, Christ Church Research Advisor, will speak on the subject of Cathedral Monuments.
On Tuesday November 18, the focus will be on Cathedral Portraits with the speaker being Dr Raymond Refaussé, Librarian and Archivist at the RCB Library.
Cathedral Liturgy will be the subject of the lecture on Tuesday November 25 when the speaker will be the Dean of Christ Church Cathedral, the Very Revd Dermot Dunne.
Lectures will take place in the Music Room of Christ Church Cathedral and will begin at 1.05 pm and end at 1.35 pm. They will be followed by tea, coffee and discussion concluding at 2.00 pm. Admission is free and all are welcome to attend. The series is supported by the Friends of Christ Church.
