Christian Aid Workshop on Gender Issues at CITI
Christian Aid is hosting a special workshop on Gender, Gender Based Violence and Development tomorrow, Thursday May 28, in the Church of Ireland Theological Institute, Braemor Park, Churchtown, at 10.30 am. The two hour session will look at the causes, consequences and response and features three speakers.
Róisín Gallagher, Programme Development Advisor, Gender & Inequality, Christian Aid will present case studies from Christian Aid’s work with Syrian refugees and Iraqi internally displaced people.
Lydia Monds, Education Advisor, Bishop’s Appeal, will report back from the recent Gender Justice Network Conference in London, where faith leaders from UK and Ireland are building a global inter–faith movement to work on gender justice.
And there will be a contribution from Canon Ginnie Kennerley touching on some of the challenges around issues of gender that the church faces: past, present and future.
