Advent Reflections and Faith in Politics – Upcoming Events at CITI
The Department of Lay Training at the Church of Ireland Theological Institute has a number of interesting events coming up for Advent and beyond.
On Monday November 30 Bishop Ken Clarke, Director of SAMS, will give a personal take on “The message of Advent”. Monday December 7 will see Bishop Pat Storey, Bishop of Meath and Kildare, give her understanding of Advent and its message for us today.
All are welcome to attend these Advent reflections which get underway at 7.00 pm and conclude at 9.00 pm. Refreshments will be served.
The Lay Training Department is also currently working on an exciting series of evening seminars focussing on “Faith and Politics” for early 2016. With a General Election looming in 2016, the Institute will host four political parties/themes across four evenings. Each evening of the “Faith and Politics” series will allow for political input and theological reflection (led by Canon Patrick Comerford). They hope for a fantastic level of engagement. The speakers are being confirmed.
Faith and Politics dates: Monday January 25; Monday February 1; Monday February 8; Monday February 18. Venue: Church of Ireland Theological Institute, Braemor Park, Churchtown.
