The Clarion – Enniskerry’s Joint Parishes Launch New Monthly Newletter
Parishioners of the Church of Ireland Parish of Powerscourt with Kilbride (Bray) and the Roman Catholic Parish of St Mary, Enniskerry, have a new monthly newsletter to look forward to. The Clarion is being produced by both parishes and will be available from March 1.
The new venture has been made possible by the involvement of the recently established Liturgical Publications of Ireland Ltd. This company has vast experience of liturgical publications in the USA. The Clarion will be a full colour 16 page magazine incorporating news from both parishes and from the wider community. It includes a combined diary of community events and forthcoming events with the liturgical diary of each parish as the main centrefold.
The Joint Parishes is a long standing concept in Enniskerry where there is an established commitment to do everything possible together and never to do separately what is possible to do collaborately. This has involved joint study, combined fundraising and joint projects of many kinds as well as celebrating elements of the main Christian festivals together. The front page of Issue 1 (pictured) depicts the Good Friday ‘Way of the Cross’, a highlight of the annual joint liturgical calendar.
The newsletter for March will be distributed to every household in the area and thereafter will be available in all of the churches and local shops. The existing Powerscourt and Kilbride distribution scheme will continue. There will be 10 issues per year.
This new development will be launched by the Archbishop of Dublin, The Most Rev Dr Michael Jackson in the Powerscourt Arms Hotel, Enniskerry on Tuesday March 1 at 6.00 pm. All contributors and advertisers are encouraged to attend.
