Dublin and Glendalough Theology Circle Annual Lecture
Dublin and Glendalough Theology Circle presents its annual lecture on Thursday April 14 in Christ Church Cathedral. This year’s lecture will be given by the Revd Dr Kieran O’Mahony OSA. The Theology Circle has been studying St Paul this year and they are greatly looking forward to Kieran’s lecture which is entitled ‘Was Paul a Lutheran?’
The Theology Circle invites all who are interested in learning more about Paul to join them at the lecture. The evening begins at 6.00 pm with Evensong sung by the Cathedral Choir. This is followed by light refreshments after which Kieran will deliver his lecture.
Kieran is an Augustinian friar who has specialized in the study of the letters of Paul. He is the author of Pauline Persuasion (2000) and Do We Still Need St Paul? (2009). An ecumenical canon of St Patrick’s Cathedral, he coordinates biblical studies in the Catholic Archdiocese of Dublin.
The Dublin and Glendalough Theology Circle is the ongoing learning fellowship of people who have completed the Archbishop’s Certificate Course in Theology or who have reached at least a similar level of theological learning. Members support each other in keeping up their interest in theology in an informal and friendly learning community. They meet at 8.00 pm in the Chapter House of Christ Church Cathedral on the first Tuesday of October, November, February and March. Each academic year the group decides on a particular topic to explore. The Cathedral also facilitates them in hosting the annual public lecture given by a specialist in their area of study for the year.
