Seminars Provide Opportunity to Learn More About Our Partner Diocese
As part of the link between Dublin and Glendalough and the Diocese of Jerusalem, the Revd Dr William Olhausen will lead a two part course in the Church of Ireland Theological Institute on Saturday May 7 and Saturday May 21 from 10 am to 4 pm. This study is designed to broaden our knowledge of life in our partner diocese and gain an understanding of the issues of the region.
The study is based on Land of Promise? An Anglican exploration of Christian attitudes to the Holy Land, a document written to enable Anglicans across the Communion to engage more deeply with, and to become more informed about, the issues surrounding the situation in the Holy Land. It provides a range of theological resources for Anglicans as well as an exploration of key theological issues, such as the gift of the land, exile and return, and holy city and temple, to enable us to get a sense of the Holy Land and Zion and how they relate to one another.
It is hoped to undertake a diocesan pilgrimage to the Holy Land next year and the study will provide a more thorough understanding as well as help build a stronger relationship with the people of the Diocese of Jerusalem.
Further information can be obtained by contacting Linda Chambers at us@ireland.anglican.org or the Revd Ken Rue on 087–2766590.
