’Click, Create, Commemorate’ – Heritage Week in Monkstown

Historian, researcher and photographer, Patrick Hugh Lynch, will deliver a lecture (open to all) on Monday August 22 at 7.30 pm in Monkstown Parish Church. Entitled ‘Click, Create, Commemorate’, Patrick will show some of his photos of Ireland and the Great War, of events he has attended in his role as photographer and tell the stories behind the pictures.

He will reflect on the legacy of the men and women from Monkstown who 100 years ago fought in the Great War. But he will also look at memory as both a positive and negative power and share some of the vast photographic collection he has assembled over many years to illustrate how good memories can be created through photography.

This lecture is part of Monkstown’s Heritage Week contribution. The church will also be open during the week and there will be a special exhibition on the history of the church for people to see.
