The training is aimed at clergy who are newly ordained, in a first incumbency, new to the jurisdiction, returning to parish ministry or who may have missed out on previous training. It is also suitable for clergy who would like to refresh their knowledge of the child protection policy.

Rectors have a key role in ensuring a high standard of safeguarding practice in their parishes. This training day provides an opportunity to increase knowledge of the requirements of the Code and to learn about recent legal changes, including the National Vetting Bureau (Protection of Children and Vulnerable Persons) Act 2012.

Ruth Burleigh, Vetting Administrator, will answer queries about the new online vetting application system.

The training day will run from 10.30 am until 4.00 pm and lunch will be provided. Participants are asked to contact Renée English, Child Protection Officer, at cpori@ireland.anglican.org or telephone 01–4125 662 by Wednesday August 31 to book a place.
