New Film on Eugene Peterson by Greg Fromholz
Eugene Peterson is an American–born pastor, scholar, author, and poet. He has written 35 books, including Gold Medallion Book award winner ‘The Message: The Bible in Contemporary Language’ which has sold 16 million copies alone.
He is now also the subject of a beautiful new film by Greg Fromholz (who, wearing a different hat, is Dublin and Glendalough’s Young Adults’ Officer). The film, entitled ‘Peterson: In Between the Man and the Message’, addresses many issues facing ministry and faith.
The film is part of a personal passion project which began with him funding a documentary on Phyllis Tickle in 2014 (https://youtu.be/t1O-QfZBKro). Then the film of Eugene Peterson was commissioned by NavPress. Greg will soon travel to Philadelphia to make a film with Tony Campolo, which he hopes to fund through online crowd source funding.
“These [the films] are all based on a deep desire I have to show the humanity behind the prophetic voices of our time and to capture glimpses of the godmothers and godfathers of our faith while they are still with us and hear their distilled wisdom,” Greg explains.
