Paradigm – A Day For Pioneer Ministry and Exploration of Fresh Expression
Are you involved in pioneer ministry and want to hear about what others are doing? Are you thinking about doing something new at your church but don’t know where to start? Or are you just curious about fresh expressions of church? If the answer to any of these questions (and many more) is yes then Paradigm is the event for you.
Paradigm is a one–day event featuring teaching, sharing, learning and connecting. It intends to build bridges between people and communities. It takes place on Saturday October 8 in Methodist Centenary Church on Leeson Park, Dublin, from 9.30 am to 4.00 pm.
Organised by ICON Community, Stepping Stones and Holy Trinity, Rathmines, Paradigm will facilitate dialogue about mission and discipleship. But the organisers also hope to develop relational networks for further connection, prayer, and mutual encouragement throughout the year.
One of the organisers, the Revd Eoghan Heaslip who leads ICON Community with his wife Becky, says all are welcome to come to Paradigm whether they have a seed of an idea turning over in their minds or whether they are seasoned church planters.
“It is open to everyone because living missionally is open to all. Anyone can do this. That is the theory behind this day. The focus of discipleship is ‘every member mission’ rather than sitting waiting for the priest to come up with something new. It’s seeing what God is doing around us in our everyday lives,” Eoghan explains.
During the day participants will learn about the principals of mission and discipleship as well as hearing practical applications. There will also be a number of workshops to choose from.
The cost of the day is €25 and bookings are now being taken via the Paradigm website: www.paradigm-ireland.ie which also has full details of the programme for the day.
