Clergy Couples Getaway: Investing in Relationships
In the busyness of parish life, it is so easy for clergy to take relationships for granted. The Marriage Council, with the support of the House of Bishops, is inviting clergy couples to an overnight 24–hour break at the Hodson Bay Hotel, on the quiet, picturesque shores of Lough Ree, Athlone, on November 16 and 17.
The Marriage Council wants you to be able to take time out and relax, so their priority will be for couples to have plenty of opportunity to unwind. Also with the help of Marriage Council facilitators, Jonny and Alison Campbell–Smyth, they will share stories, and provide practical insights into navigating marriage, whether you are just married or have been together many years (couples will have plenty of time to chat together, rather than sharing with the wider group).
Places are limited, so book early. The cost of the retreat will be borne by the Marriage Council and your diocese, with a small contribution from each couple of €100.
