Canon David Oxley took his place on the Chapter of St Patrick’s Cathedral, Dublin, when he was installed as Prebendary of St Audoen recently. The installation took place in the context of Choral Evensong sung by the cathedral choir and David was joined at the service by family and friends.

David was elected to the Chapter in March in succession to Canon Jonathan Barry. He has had a long association with St Patrick’s Cathedral having been a chorister and a pupil of the Cathedral Choir School and the Cathedral Grammar School, where he is now chaplain. He was appointed Succentor in 2007 and he will continue to serve in this office.

Canon–elect Oxley is Rector of Santry, Glasnevin and Finglas. He is married to Amalia and their son Victor is following his father’s foot–steps as a boy chorister.
