Council for Mission Awards Bursaries for Jerusalem Studies
Dublin & Glendalough Council for Mission has announced that it has awarded three bursaries for study in St George’s College in Jerusalem during 2020.
The bursaries were made available as part of our diocesan link with the Diocese of Jerusalem. Each bursary is to be applied towards course fees.
The council for mission invited applications for the bursaries to attend a short course in St George’s College last October. Having received a number of applications the bursaries have been awarded to three lay readers from the United Dioceses. They are: Ruth Gyves, Rathmines with Harold’s Cross; Margaret Healion, Zion; and David Reynolds, Bray.
A spokesperson for the Council for Mission said: “We are delighted to award these bursaries and wish Ruth, Margaret and David every success in their studies. We look forward to learning from their experiences”.
St George’s College is the Anglican study pilgrimage centre in Jerusalem and is part of the complex that includes the Cathedral Church of St George the Martyr, St George’s School, the Pilgrim Guest House and the offices of the Anglican Archbishop in Jerusalem.
The college offers a place where clergy and lay people from across the Anglican Communion as well as a variety of other traditions, can share in a short–term experience of community, pilgrimage, education, interfaith dialogue and reconciliation. St George’s College will celebrate its 100th year in 2020.
