Walking in the Wilderness with Jesus – A Short Lenten Reflection Sunday March 14

Archbishop Michael Jackson offers today’s short reflection for Lent (Sunday March 14).

On Mothering Sunday the Archbishop recalls the recent report on Mother and Baby Homes which, he says, raises concern and societal shame which must be accepted and addressed regarding mothers and children across  Ireland.

“We can only stand silently, penitently, repentantly with these children, now adults, and their mothers, most of them now dead, on this day called Mothering Sunday,” he says.

The Archbishop’s reflection today (which you can watch below) is based on St Luke 2.33–35; St John 19.25b–27.

Join us every day during Lent for a thought for the day from our Diocesan Readers. Archbishop Michael Jackson gives the reflections on Sundays.

You can find them on this website, the United Dioceses of Dublin and Glendalough YouTube channel (subscribe now so as not to miss a post) and will also be available on the Facebook page and Twitter.
