The Revd Kevin Ronné has been appointed as the new Rector of Raheny and Coolock in the Diocese of Dublin. Kevin is currently Rector of the Dunleckney Union of Parishes in the Diocese of Cashel Ferns and Ossory where he has served for 10 years. The announcement was made in the parishes this morning.

Hailing from South Africa, Kevin arrived in Ireland with his wife, Arlene and three children, Tyrell, Tatum and Trent, a little over 17 years ago.

“I must say that I took to Ireland as a duck does to water,” he recalls. “I quickly emersed myself in the Irish culture and traditions of the Church of Ireland and the wider community. Arlene and I have watched our family grow from five to 10, with our three granddaughters and our grandson and these spouses and fiancé.”

Kevin adds: “When I look back to my ordination I scarce can believe that out of my 22 years I have shared 17 of them in Ireland. I have always tried to be ready for the call of God and Jesus Christ to where I am to bring good news. I look forward with great expectations to see what our Lord has for myself and the Parishes of Raheny and Coolock in Christ.

“On the other hand, I leave the Dunleckney Union of Parishes, where I have come to know and make some wonderful friends during our time together. I am thankful to God for our time spent together. This I will keep with me all the days of my life. As I say farewell to the old I welcome the new.”

A date for Kevin’s institution will be announced in due course.
