Archbishop of Dublin Expresses Solidarity with Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jordan and the Holy Land
Following the storming of the Mar Elias Monastery in Haifa on Sunday and the statement by Bishop Doctor Sani Ibrahim Azar (see below), Archbishop Michael Jackson has expressed his support. He states today: “By virtue of our deep affection for the peoples of the Land of the Holy One and our association with Evangelical Church in many parts of the world we in Dublin and Glendalough wish to express our solidarity with what Bishop Doctor Sani Ibrahim Azar and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jordan and the Holy Land has said following the recent storming of the Mar Elias Monastery in Haifa. Like millions of people worldwide I continue to pray for and call for the restoration of peaceful coexistence and harmonious relations between those who are tragically set against one another in the Land of the Holy One.”
