Members of Porvoo Churches engaged in their deliberations on the Eucharist.

Today the delegates from the Porvoo Churches discussed a wide range of topics.

We began with an in depth presentation on the Mozarabic Rite for Holy Communion as used throughout the Spanish Episcopal Church. Two further presentations were made: a Roman Catholic perspective on ecumenical life in Spain; and a critique from a Roman Catholic perspective on the Eucharistic doctrine of the Lutheran and Anglican Churches.

We then moved to consider practical everyday implications of life in the Eucharist and delegates spend the afternoon discussing two broad areas: how can we enable our church members more fully to connect Eucharistic participation with everyday life; how do we enable Eucharistic participation to be a portal for God’s mission in the world we inhabit?

The day concluded with Evening Prayer led by the bishop and members of the Lusitanian Church.
