Lindsay comes to the Church of Ireland from the Church of England. She studied in Kent, trained in Wales, was ordained deacon in 1999.

Speaking following her arrival in Dublin and Glendalough Lindsay said she was looking forward to serving in Christ Church and getting to know the cathedral community and people of the dioceses.

“I’m delighted to have this opportunity of serving alongside the diverse connection of souls that makes up the community of Christ Church Cathedral,” she commented. “It’s not my first experience of cathedral–ing. Aside from the casual cathedral activity of any parish priest, I was chaplain to the Bishop of Rochester for a few years. Ordinations, confirmations, and other bishop–adjacent activity gave me a chance to see some of the range of a cathedral’s ministry, and of the team–work required to achieve it, though I was aware it was only the tip of the iceberg. I’m really excited by this opportunity to go beneath the surface, here in Dublin.”

She added: “I bring with me a history of about a dozen years of parish ministry and another dozen in various forms of chaplaincy, all in the south east of England. I fail to bring with me any experience of or knowledge of the island of Ireland, so please be patient with me while I wrap myself around a new culture and ecclesiasial vocabulary!”

“My children chose to remain behind (having an undergraduate degree and an apprenticeship, between them, to pursue) but mercifully my husband, Doug, has crossed the Irish sea with me (my greyhound had no choice in coming and is yet to be entirely reconciled to the fact). So please, if you’re passing the cathedral, give me a shout and introduce yourself, so that I can start to get to know my new diocese,” she added.
