Archbishop of Dublin Expresses Sorrow for all Impacted in a Year of Atrocities
Archbishop Michael Jackson has reflected on a year of the current war in the Middle East.
On the anniversary of the October 7th attack in Israel, I express my sadness, solidarity and sorrow for all who have been killed, maimed, traumatized and bereaved throughout a year of atrocities in a war that has extended its tentacles across the region we call The Middle East.
In the Dioceses of Dublin and Glendalough our prayers and our thoughts and our memories are particularly with members of the Diocese of Jerusalem. Our prayers are also for everyone who suffers locally and internationally and for those who strive to keep the peace in the region including the Irish men and women and their international colleagues on duty with the UN peacekeeping mission.
I call on everyone to observe a minute of silence today and to do everything possible to usher in peace and resolution in a time of conflict and destruction.
