Two New Canons Installed at Christ Church Cathedral

The community of Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin, welcomed two new faces on Sunday afternoon (October 5). Canon Garth Bunting and Canon Alan Breen were installed by Dean Dermot Dunne during Choral Evensong which was sung by the Cathedral Choir.
Canon Garth Bunting is Rector of Drumcondra and North Strand in Dublin. Canon Alan Breen is Rector of Kill O’ the Grange, also in Dublin. They were appointed to the Chapter by Archbishop Michael Jackson.
They were joined at the service by family and friends as well as parishioners from their respective parishes.
Canon Bunting has had a connection with the cathedral stretching back almost 30 years as he worked there during holidays while he was training for ordination. He returned there as Residential Priest Vicar from 2009 to 2016 after which he was appointed to serve as Incumbent of Drumcondra and North Strand.
Canon Breen has served the dioceses in a number of capacities since his ordination. He has served in Kill O’ the Grange since 2017 and is currently chairperson of Dublin and Glendalough Youth Council.
