28th – 30th November
Castleknock Christmas Tree Festival and Art Exhibition
The parishes of Castleknock and Mulhuddart with Clonsilla are holding a Christmas Tree Festival in St Brigid’s, Castleknock, from Friday 28th to Sunday 30th November.
The festival will open on Friday 28th November at 6pm. Visitors to the festival will journey through the Christmas story as told by decorated trees as well as those that bring them to the very heart of our local community. Some of the trees will be decorated traditional Christmas Trees while others will be bespoke creations.
The festival continues on Saturday and Sunday and will conclude with a Christmas Carols of Praise for the whole community on Sunday afternoon at 4pm. Entrance to the Festival is via donation as the parish invites everyone to come along and enjoy the spectacle of trees and lights.
Alongside the festival on Saturday the parish will be holding its annual Arts and Craft Fair in the Parish Centre from 12noon to 4pm with a variety of stalls as well as an art exhibition and sale. The majority of the crafters and artists are from the local community. There will be the usual refreshments, cake and plant stalls and Santa’s Grotto with face painting and balloon modelling.
Paying tribute to the organisers, the Revd Colin McConaghie said: “The Christmas Tree Festival is a major undertaking and there has been a lot of work to make it possible. We look forward to the seeing all the trees come together as well as the wonderful art and crafts at the Fair.”
